EternaLEnVy Jokingly Takes Credit for Turning Arteezy Into a Dota 2 "Monster"
Legendary carry turned livestreamer Jacky "EternaLEnVy" Mao recently claimed that he was the main reason for his former teammate Artour "Arteezy" Babaev’s success. The Canadian duo are well-known for their friendship while also becoming teammates for a short period of time in 2013 with Speed Gaming Int., where Arteezy would make his presence known to the world before reuniting with EternaLEnVy at Team Secret in 2016.
While Arteezy went on to become one of the carries in the world, EternaLEnVy went on to have a decent competitive career including a Major championship at the Shanghai Major 2016 before retiring in 2022 to focus on his streaming career.
"All because of me" - EternaLEnVy on helping Arteezy achieve his potential
During a recent livestream, EternaLEnVy was simply showcasing his skills in Dota 2 as usual following his retirement from the competitive scene. However, a viewer then asked him his thoughts about his former teammate, Arteezy’s rise to success.
He responded to the question with his girlfriend behind him, however in typical EternaLEnVy fashion, the Canadian carry compared his time guiding Arteezy to reach his full potential to that of teaching geometry to students.
“Well without me, Arteezy wouldn't even know the difference between a square and a f**king circle. I had to teach him from scratch. At first, he thought that a triangle was a square and I told him, NO. A square has 4 corners and a triangle has 3 corners. And then he was like “Oh sh*t, EE-sama you’re right.” said EternaLEnVy.
He then went on to jokingly claim that he was the main reason behind Arteezy’s success, saying that he guided him to become one of the best carries in the world today.
“Dude, it was rough, man. I started from scratch but I saw his potential. So even though he didn't know the difference between a triangle and a square, I gave him the time of day [to guide him] and eventually Arteezy was built to become the monster that he is now, all because of me boys.”
While EternaLEnVy’s effect on Arteezy’s play style is questionable, there is no doubt that Arteezy’s potential has long been realized as the player went on to have an illustrious career.
