During the Main Event playoffs of The International 2022 (TI11), the audiences were treated to an enhanced version of the highlight replays from the tournament where they could hear the voice communications of both teams and Valve nicknamed it as “True Sight Replay”. While the audiences are interested in the newly enhanced replay system at a TI, some personalities have mixed feelings about it.
One of these personalities include Sébastien "Ceb" Debs who made his feelings about the idea clear during his appearance on the We Say Things podcast hosted by the caster duo of Shannon "SUNSfan" Scotten and Troels Lyngholt "syndereN" Nielsen.
Ceb thinks the True Sight Replay idea is good, however the execution of it could be better
Following OG’s early exit from TI11, Ceb was seen participating in his team’s Monkey Business podcast hosted by Johan "N0tail" Sundstein and OG CEO JMR alongside the caster duo of SUNSfan and syndereN.
However, his podcast appearances did not end there as he joined the caster duo in their own podcast, We Say Things Episode 169. During the podcast, the trio discussed the newest additional feature at The International by Valve called True Sight Replay, where the audience could hear the voice communications of both teams during a highlighted team fight. While Ceb likes the idea by the tournament organizers, he is not a big fan of the execution of the idea as it disrupts the audience’s viewing experience.
“I’m not a big fan of the replays, how they do them personally. I like the idea, I don’t mind the idea I think it could bring but I think the way it happens during a game in progress, it's always bad timing [by the production].” said Ceb.
The caster duo of SUNSfan and syndereN then said that they felt the same way, as the replay section tends to happen randomly which then would disrupt their flow of casting during games.
“It’s funny because when we were casting, they [the production] don't even tell us they're doing it, it just happens at a certain point because syndereN doesn't look at the production side during casting and I have to be like “syndereN, shut the **** up the replay’s happening.” said SUNSfan.
Ceb then ended his discussion by saying that the replays should have been shifted or saved for after the matches or during a pause as it helps the audience to enjoy the replay while also not disrupting the viewing experience.
