OG were recently eliminated from The International 2022 (TI11) after Team Liquid defeated them in the third round of the Lower Bracket. However, despite the defeat the team are still committed to its podcast as co-founder Johan "N0tail" Sundstein and OG CEO JMR Luna were doing live broadcasts from the Secretlab HQ. Following the conclusion of the final day of TI11 Main Event playoffs, the duo were joined by the caster duo of Shannon "SUNSfan" Scotten and Troels Lyngholt "syndereN" Nielsen along with the team’s analyst and recurring guest in Sébastien "Ceb" Debs.
Ceb said that the current OG squad would have to go through the disappointment & pain to get stronger
Sébastien "Ceb" Debs has been with OG despite his “retirement” in many ways this Dota Pro Circuit season. However, for TI11 he followed the team to its bootcamp in Malaysia as well as the event in Singapore as the team’s analyst & psychologist.
Despite fielding a promising roster of young talent such as Artem "Yuragi" Golubiev and Bozhidar "bzm" Bogdanov, OG were unable to replicate the old guard’s achievements of winning The International (TI) after it was eliminated by Team Liquid in the third round of the Lower Bracket. However, Ceb thinks that despite the loss, the team had to go through the pain of losing in order to become better for the next DPC season.
“Losing is always a big disappointment. And I guess, they also have to go through disappointment and pain. It's kinda necessary for them to also put it to good use. Nothing new under the sun. It's painful to lose, but I'm sure that already now or tomorrow, or even more days later, they will realize how great of a season it's been overall and how much they should be proud and happy about everything that happened. All of this will be also useful in the future. So yeah, nothing to be sad about.” said Ceb.
When OG CEO JMR Luna asked Ceb about the team’s feeling after the defeat, he replied by saying that “I think it was good. Some of them were really "turned in," or I don't know how to say it. You know, just listening to music, not really talking, quiet. They are probably reflecting already. Some of them were completely fine, talking about something else. Everybody is different, everybody has different ways of dealing with disappointments. Nothing that's not normal, nothing we haven't seen in the past. Actually, I think they are pretty quick at bouncing back and looking forward, which is really nice. Some people are really slow at that, and I think it's not the case.”
The two-time TI winner then told the backstory behind Mikhail "Misha" Agatov’s disconnect issue during its group stage match against Team Liquid. According to Ceb, Misha accidentally pressed the “disconnect” & “reconnect” buttons too fast that it bugged the game’s UI which led to the incident where Misha’s reconnect button disappeared. However, thanks to Valve’s quick intervention OG were able to resume the series with its full roster.
