Topson's game sense often sets trends for other players, making it important to support his decisions and strategies.

After securing a dominant victory in their first series of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Western Europe (WEU) 2023 Tour 3: Division II, two-time The International (TI) winner, Sébastien "Ceb" Debs, shared his thoughts on Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen’s outstanding performance in the post-match interview. Ceb outlines how it’s important to enable Topson’s unconventional playstyle to win games and how he is one of the best midlaners globally.

Topson's Exceptional Talent and Unconventional Approach

Ceb acknowledges Topson as an extraordinary player, considering him one of the best midlaners globally. Despite the team's dynamic and ongoing projects, Topson's immense talent shines through in every game. Ceb highlights his unconventional playstyle in the post-match interview.

“I mean, Topson is another kind of player, honestly. I think sometimes it doesn’t always show because you know the state of the team and the project and everything, but, would he be any more experienced as in playing together team and more systematic team, he would still be one of the best midlaners in the world without any problem. Topson is just doing Topson things, there’s nothing special there. But at the same time, its extremely special. It’s just another business day for him. But holy cr*p, business days look pretty amazing,” Ceb said.

Enabling Topson's is the key to winning games

In the post-match interview, Ceb reveals that the team's strategy revolves around enabling Topson to showcase his full potential. Despite unorthodox picks like Magnus, Topson's ability to dominate the midlane and disrupt the game becomes evident. Ceb affirms that Topson's game sense and decisions often set the trend for other players, making it crucial to support his playstyle for maximum impact.

“I mean the approach has always been the same with Topson, ever since we started playing together and I think all teams should follow that, that script. The Topson manual is you give him as much as you can cause if you don’t, you’re just not using the player for who he is. So yeah, it’s unconventional to pick Mag (Magnus) in a game like this for reasons, but all of a sudden he’s destroyed mid and he’s breaking the game wide open. He has his own read on the game and I’ve been alongside him enough times to see that in 99% of the cases, whatever he does, everybody copies. So you gotta enable him to do his thing or else it’s just a big waste, in my opinion,” he added.

By recognizing Topson's exceptional talent and emphasizing the need to facilitate his style of play, Ceb's post-match interview sheds light on the team's approach to leverage the player’s unique abilities. With this victory as a testament to their strategies, the team aims to continue their success in the DPC WEU Tour 3: Division II, solidifying their position as a formidable contender in the competitive Dota 2 scene.
