Highlights
In one of the upper bracket matches of the Bali Major 2023, BetBoom beat Tundra Esports 2-0 and seemingly gained enough DPC points to qualify for The International 12.
A recent clip has surfaced, revealing Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko, the offlaner for BetBoom, alt-tabbing and watching a livestream during a pause in their game against Tundra. This action is in clear violation of the rules.
Wykrhm Reddy announced that BetBoom will incur a default loss and drop down to the lower bracket due to this.

BetBoom Team has been penalized with a default loss in their upper bracket series against Tundra Esports after its offlaner Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko was spotted watching Aleksandr "Nix" Levin’s livestream of the tournament during a pause in the game. This loss has significant implications for BetBoom's journey toward The International 12 qualification, as it now requires the team to secure multiple wins through the lower bracket to guarantee a place at TI12.

A clip of the official broadcast shows Pure switching windows using the Alt+Tab function.

This indicates that the stream was already open in the background. Despite community streams having a five-minute delay, watching streams of the tournament in the middle of the games violate multiple rules of the Bali Major 2023.

Specifically, ‘4.9.5 Internet Access’ and ‘5.2.2 Information Abuse’:

Internet access on tournament computers is limited for all participants. Once the draft begins, all terminals must have only Steam, Dota 2 and TeamSpeak running.
4.9.5 Internet Access
Communication during the match with people not involved in the match is strictly forbidden, the same is true for using information about your game from other external sources (e.g., streams).
5.2.2 Information Abuse

Following the discovery of Pure's rule violation during the pause in the BetBoom vs Tundra Esports series, Wykrhm Reddy’s revealed that BetBoom would incur a default loss for the series. As a result, BetBoom dropped to the lower bracket to face Azure Ray, while Tundra Esports will progress to the upper bracket to compete against Team Liquid.

BetBoom’s TI Qualification at Stake

This turn of events significantly impacts BetBoom's prospects in the tournament and potentially their TI12 qualification through DPC points. Prior to the default loss, the team had achieved the minimum amount of DPC points required to qualify for TI12. However, with the default loss, BetBoom's chances of securing an invite through points is no longer guaranteed, placing increased pressure on its upcoming matches.

As the Bali Major moves forward, the focus now shifts to BetBoom's upcoming match against Azure Ray and the team’s effort to regain momentum in the lower bracket. The team needs to regroup quickly and focus on securing enough DPC points to directly qualify for TI12.
