Alliance has brought in TI winner and veteran player Peter “ppd” Dager as a coach for their Dota 2 team. Alliance has been in good form in the recent past, coming second in the First Season of the EU DPC and making it to the Singapore Major in April 2021. Alliance is currently in first place in the second iteration of the EU DPC Upper Division with a solid 4-1 W-L score and has already beaten the likes of Team Liquid, Secret, and OG. With their current trajectory, they will most likely end the season in first place with a ticket straight to the Major playoffs.

Alliance sign veteran TI winner ppd as a coach for their Dota 2 roster

Before signing for Alliance, PPD competed with sadboys in the DPC 2021 Season 1: NA Upper Division. The player parted ways with the team in March 2021 after they failed to qualify for the Singapore Major. However, it looks like the player has decided to don the coaching gloves for Alliance following this departure.

Peter brings with him his expertise from his years of being a captain for teams, playing in multiple regions, and his overall experience. It will be interesting to see how he meshes with the Alliance roster who also have an experienced TI-winning veteran as their captain in Gustav “s4” Magnusson.

Alliance’s Dota 2 captain s4 commented on the new signing by stating:

“It’s cool to bring in Peter in the coaching position since he’s been someone I’ve wanted to play with in the past. ppd is very straightforward and calm, so it’s gonna help us make good calls in-game when the pressure gets high. Captaining and drafting will still be our team’s idea, but ppd will have a huge impact there as well with him being one of the best drafters in Dota 2″

“At Alliance, we strongly believe that diversity helps us become beer at what we do,” says Alliance co-founder and CEO Jonathan “Loda” Berg. “You all know that we are the good guys, but sometimes even the good guys need a touch of evil. Peter brings a different perspective and understanding from his region, but also as a TI Champion, we know that he has invaluable experience to share with our team. Playtime is over and we have our eyes set on the Major and later this year TI”.

With how dominating they are currently, in the Upper Division of the DPC, this empowered and motivated Alliance looks to power on through anyone who stands in the way of their goal.

ppd is one of the older Dota 2 players and has been in the scene since the early days of the game and was part of the first iteration of the revived Evil Geniuses in 2013. His most notable placement is his winning of The International of 2015 with Evil Geniuses. Since then, ppd has played under the banner of Ninjas in Pyjamas, Optic Gaming, and has also been part of the Dota 2 Broadcast Talent.
