This is not the first time MidOne and Mushi play together as they previously played together for Fnatic in 2015-16, which saw them secure a Top 4 finish at TI6. MidOne then had a successful stint with Team Secret from 2016-19 following which he joined OG in early 2020. He then parted ways with the OG organization in March 2021.
On the other hand, kpii, who has previously played for top teams like Newbee and Mineski, joined TNC Predator in 2019. He helped the Filipino team secure its first DPC Major at MDL Chengdu Major when they defeated Vici Gaming 3-1 in the grand finals. The Australian offlaner parted ways with TNC Predator in March 2021 and position five Korean player, Febby, as the team wanted to play with an all-Filipino roster.
The first round of the SEA 2021 DPC Season 2: open qualifiers will be held from April 6 to April 7. If the team manages to win it, they will directly qualify for the Lower Division.
Since there has been no official confirmation by either the players or the team, it still remains to be seen if MidOne and kpii have been recruited on a permanent basis or if they're confirmed as stand-ins for the qualifiers.
