Popular Chinese carry, Song "Sccc" Chun will be leaving Team Aster after the end of August 2020, the organization has confirmed on its Weibo handle. The player will hence become a free agent on 1st September 2020. Following this, reports have emerged, stating that RNG carry Du "Monet" Peng will be replacing him in Team Aster.

Sccc Departs From Team Aster

Team Aster posted on its Weibo stating that Sccc’s contract will come to an end on 1st September 2020 and that they will be respecting the player’s wishes and not be renewing his contract with the organization. So Sccc will be a free agent from that date.

Sccc joined Team Aster after the conclusion of The International 9, following his 3-year stint with the Newbee organization. With him in the carry role, Team Aster kicked off the season by managing to qualify to the MDL Chengdu Major and the DreamLeague Season 13: Leipzig Major.

Aster also managed to qualify for the third major of the season by winning the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3. However, due to the global lockdowns, they faced VISA issues.

In the end, it did not matter since, the third major of the season ended up getting canceled. Following this, Aster did not find much success in online leagues and was largely mediocre until now..

Sccc departs from Team Aster with over $40,000 in prize winnings.

According to VPEsports, two players from Royal Never Giveup (RNG) (Du "Monet" Peng and Liu Yuhao) will be joining Team Aster as the replacements. This could explain RNG’s recent withdrawal from the ESL One Thailand 2020 tournament.

However, this would also mean that Malaysian player Kee “ChYuan” Chyuan Ng will no longer be a part of the Team Aster lineup as they move forward.

So Team Aster’s lineup for the upcoming tournaments will reportedly be:

  • Du “Monet” Peng
  • Liu Yuhao
  • Lin “Xxs” Jing
  • Pan “Fade” Yi
  • Ye “BoBoKa” Zhibiao

Rumors on Sccc’s future destination

There have been a few rumors on Sccc’s possible destinations.

  • In one of his streams former LGD Gaming player Inflame reportedly asked Sccc: "You won't reject LGD, will you?" to which Sccc replied that he will go home and play mud (Chinese slang for doing nothing).

  • Sccc has also reportedly followed LGD Gaming's boss on Chinese Social Media website, Weibo recently.

However, neither rumour has anything concrete behind it. Hence, it is unlikely that Sccc ends up joining PSG.LGD
