T1 Beat Adroit to Clinch Their First Ever Dota 2 Championship
- T1 won the Hephaestus Cup after beating Team Adroit in their final match.

It has taken them a little over 9 months, multiple roster shuffles and so many tournaments. But they’ve finally managed to do it.
T1 has won the first-ever championship in Dota 2, after their recent triumph over Team Adroit in the Hephaestus Cup, beating out 9 other teams in the process. They have won ¥50,000 CNY (~$7,034 USD) in prize money as a result.
Hephaestus Cup
The tournament took place over the course of 3 weeks in a full BO3 round-robin league (similar to the proposed DPC system). In the end, it came down to a two-horse battle between Team Adroit and T1.
The tournament reached a fever pitch when it came to the match between T1 and Team Adroit. It was a do-or-die match for either team, the winner of this match would claim the title and the lion’s share of the prize money.
Although it was a close couple of games, T1 managed to clutch out the trophy with a 2-0 win over the Filipinos.

This is a monumental moment for T1’s Dota 2 lineup. The team looks like they’ve finally found their foot and can now move towards challenging teams like Fnatic and TNC Predator.
