Geek Fam Stomp Cignal Ultra in the WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020 SEA Qualifiers Grand Finals

Cignal Ultra fail to qualify for the WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020 after the Filipino giants, Geek Fam knock them out with a scintillating 3-0 scoreline.

It has been a rough week for Cignal Ultra. First, they barely miss out on a place in the DreamLeague Season 13 Leipzig Major after a Typhoon knocked out their connections in their final match.

Their shot at redemption came at the SEA Qualifiers for the WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020. They did quite well to kick-off their run. However, they just couldn’t overcome their biggest challenge in this qualifier: Geek Fam. The team lost to them, both in the winner bracket finals and the grand finals without landing a single blow.

After a disappointing run in the Major Qualifiers, Geek Fam recovered and cruised through the Minor Qualifiers with ease. At the end of the qualifier, the team stood with an impressive, undefeated, 7-0 win-loss record in this qualifier underlining the fact that the team was simply a level above the rest of the playing field.

The WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020 will be the second consecutive Minor in which Geek Fam will compete. The SEA representative will be looking to better their performance from the previous Minor: The Summit 11, in which they only managed a 5-6th place finish.
