When do Wisdom Runes Spawn in Dota 2?

The newest Dota 2 patch 7.33 brought in a multitude of changes including the addition of Tormentors, Twin Gates, two Roshan Pits, Lotus Pools, Watchers, Defender’s Gates, and more. One of the other changes included in this patch is the addition of a new type of rune called the Wisdom Rune. The Wisdom Rune is quite valuable since it grants a ridiculous amount of experience to the hero that grabs it.

The value of this new rune is particularly significant when playing in a competitive match, where gaining an advantage over the enemy team can be the key to winning. The Wisdom Rune can be especially useful for a support hero who may have fallen behind in levels or a dominant mid-laner who can use the experience boost to push further ahead.

When do Wisdom Runes Spawn?

Wisdom Runes spawn every seven minutes on both the Radiant and Dire sides of the map. It spawns near the top lane Tier 2 tower (right next to the Tormentor) for Radiant while it spawns near the bottom lane Tier 2 tower (right next to the Tormentor) for Dire.

Wisdom runes grant exactly 280 experiences for every 7 minutes elapsed to the hero that grabs it. So if players grab the wisdom rune before the next one has spawned, here’s how much experience you can gain.

It should be noted that Wisdom runes aren’t replaced by the next Wisdom Rune if no hero picks them up. Rather it spawns next to each other and the experience it grants is calculated using the time in which the hero picks up the rune. So theoretically, stacking up Wisdom runes and then picking them up later in the game could be a feasible strategy.
