Xccurate Announces Retirement From CS:GO and Switches to Valorant
Another great player from the Asian region has stepped away from CS:GO.
CS:GO has been losing traction in Asia with multiple teams from the region doing exceedingly well in Valorant. As a result, multiple top athletes have migrated over to the new tactical shooter which clearly grants more opportunities and growth to all the players.
After giving eight years of his life to CS:GO, Kevin "xccurate" Susanto, has become the latest player to retire from CS:GO, with an aim to focus all his efforts on Valorant.
This decision by xccurate comes after his six-month break from the CS:GO competitive scene as he shifted to Team NKT's inactive roster in March earlier this year. The reason behind the switch still remains unknown.
Asian CS:GO veteran xccurate announces his retirement from the game and switches to Valorant
One of the top CS:GO players from Asia, xccurate, who originally hails from Indonesia has announced his retirement from the game after having spent most of his time competing with top Chinese teams like BTRG and TYLOO.
The 24-year-old is one of the few top-class AWPers to have represented the region and his country in multiple CS:GO Majors - FACEIT Major London 2018 and IEM Katowice Major 2019.
Six months ago in March, xccurate announced taking a break from competitive CS:GO and voluntarily stepped down from Team NKT's active roster - MESA League Season 2 being his last tournament with the team.
No particular reason was provided behind the player's absence from the competitive circuit, neither by the organization nor by the player, wishing the best to all his teammates and promising to provide an update about his future later.
Finally, xccurate has come forward to reveal that he is retiring from CS:GO in order to enjoy his life and will also be shifting his focus entirely towards Valorant.
"Today i would like to announce my retirement from the competitive world of CS:GO. I've gone through many ups and downs with CS:GO. I would like to thank all the teams and teammates that has been a part of my journey all these years," said xccurate in his farewell statement.
Xccurate's younger brother, Jason "f0rsakeN" Susanto, is already a well established player in Valorant who is currently a part of Paper Rex - runner up of VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen.
It remains to be seen if xccurate will be able to achieve similar amount of success in his new endeavor or will he eventually return to CS:GO.
