WePlay Academy League Season 2 Announced Featuring $100,000 Prize Pool
The CS:GO Academy teams are ready to rumble once again!
The WePlay Academy League (WAL) Season 2 has been announced by WePlay Esports featuring a $100,000 USD total prize pool. The event is set to take place from 28th September 2021 to 14th November, however, it will not be running for the entire duration. The entire tournament has been split into three stages - Group Stage, Last Chance Group, Playoffs Stage. The first two stages will be played online while the final stage of the event will be taking place on LAN.
A total of eight CS:GO academy teams will be participating in this tournament, as mouz NXT tries to defend its title of WAL Season 1 champions.
WePlay Esports announces Season 2 of WePlay Academy League
WePlay Academy League - Season 2 will be featuring a total prize pool of $100,000 USD which will be divided between the Online and LAN stages of the tournament.
The Group Stage along with the Last Chance Group will feature a $12,000 USD prize pool which will be divided between the four CS:GO teams facing elimination. On the other hand, the four qualified teams will move on to the Playoffs Stage where they will be competing for the remaining $88,000 USD.

The defending champions mouz NXT face stiff competition, especially from NAVI Junior who will be competing along with senior CS:GO player Egor "flamie" Vasilev.
This is within the rules of the tournament according to which, participating teams should consist of at least four players aged between 16 to 20 years old, while one player above the age of 20 is allowed per team.
WePlay Academy League Season 2 Schedule and Format
WAL Season 2 is scheduled to start from 28th September and will be coming to an end on 14th November. The entire schedule of the tournament is as follows,
Group Stage - 28th September to 5th October 2021
Last Chance Group - 7th to 9th October 2021
Playoff Stage - 12th to 14th November 2021
The first two stages of the tournament will be played online whereas the Playoff Stage will be taking place on LAN at the WePlay Esports Arena in Kyiv, Ukraine.
The Group Stage will see the eight teams being divided into two groups of four teams each. Both the groups will be undergoing a GSL group format with the winning team directly qualifying to the Playoff Stage, followed by the second and third placed teams dropping down to the Last Chance Group.
From there two more teams will further move on to the Playoffs Stage, as the final four academy teams compete to win the tournament to become champions.
