A new record for the longest CS2 match on LAN was registered at the ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2023 during the match between TYLOO and MongolZ.
The two teams played a total of five overtimes, 54 rounds to be precise, on Inferno.
At the end, MongolZ walked away as the winners with the score line reading 28-26.

The first day of ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2024 witnessed a record-breaking performance as TYLOO and MongolZ went toe-to-toe against each other on Inferno to deliver the longest Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) match on LAN.

26th January was already a huge day for ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND, returning to an offline format after two years and further opening its doors to a live audience for the first time.

To make things even more special, TYLOO and MongolZ delivered what might be the most entertaining map of this event, lasting a record 54 rounds and concluding after five overtimes.

ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2023: TYLOO vs MongolZ Sets New Record for Longest CS2 Match on LAN

The previous record of 53 rounds set by FaZe Clan and NIP during the CS2 Asia Championships 2023 has been broken just two months down following a fiery duel between two of the strongest teams from Asia - TYLOO and MongolZ.

Both the record-setting matches coincidentally turned out to be a best-one-of series, FaZe Clan winning the previous encounter and MongolZ snatching this one away from the jaws of defeat.

TYLOO is one of the favorites to win this tournament. The team from China started its campaign strong by handing On Sla2ers, the team from South Korea, a harsh 13-2 defeat on Inferno in the very first match of ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2023.

MongolZ also started its journey in this tournament on a similar note, decimating ACME, the team from UAE, with a score of 13-3 on Mirage.

Both teams advanced to the winner's bracket, competing on Inferno, where they proceeded to deliver the record-breaking performance that had everyone on the edge of their seats.

The record-breaking match started with TYLOO putting up a solid defence, stringing four rounds together right at the start, but MongolZ slowly caught up by reorganizing their attacks, ending the half with a draw.

In the second half, the exact opposite happened with MongolZ successfully holding TYLOO's advances at bay, followed by a swift recovery by the Chinese team to level the scores and take things into overtime.

From this point forward, a total of five overtimes were played between the two sides, concluding after 54 rounds as MongolZ secured victory with a '28-26' scoreline.

The live audience was heavily biased toward the Chinese home team, TYLOO, hyping them up at every possible moment but it was not enough to push them past the finish line as MongolZ got the better of them in the end.

This could end up being the most exciting series of ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2023 or it might just be a trailer of what lies ahead in the tournament.
