Turkish CS:GO Pro With Broken Arm Helps Team Qualify for Europe RMR

The PGL Major Antwerp 2022: European RMR - Open Qualifier #4 concluded yesterday on 7^th March (IST), as the final four CS:GO teams from Europe made their way through the qualifier into the PGL Major Antwerp 2022: European RMR(s).

Among the qualifying teams was the Turkish player-owned esports organization, Eternal Fire, currently ranked 33^rd in the world as per HLTV world ranking. The interesting thing is that one of their star players, Yasin "xfl0ud" Koç, competed in this tournament with a broken right arm and still managed to deliver a power-packed performance that helped his team qualify for the LAN qualifiers.

With this victory, Eternal Fire will be competing in its first offline event as they travel to the PGL Studio in Bucharest, Romania where all the regional RMR (Regional Major Rankings) tournaments will be taking place through the month of April.

On 5^th February, xfl0ud had revealed that he had broken the humerus of his right arm, which is the bone in the upper arm located between the elbow and the shoulder. He had to undergo treatment for the same and had been recommended rest for a period of two to six weeks, “I will not be in the active staff during this period,” said the 19-year-old at that point in time.

He had additionally informed that there is no serious or permanent issue as no damage had occurred to his nerves and that he hopes to return as soon as possible.

This was followed by Eternal Fire officially announcing that xfl0ud would be shifted to the inactive roster, giving him time away from the game to undergo proper recovery. Also, Enes “colorzz” Yıldıran was temporarily promoted from Eternal Fire Academy to the main roster to take his place.

On 21^st February, xfl0ud provided another update on his situation revealing that he had to undergo emergency surgery due to a nerve injury around the fracture.

Just two weeks after on 5^th March, the Turkish entry fragger was back on the server playing with Eternal Fire in the recently concluded PGL Major Antwerp 2022: European RMR - Open Qualifier #4. replacing Muhammed “mini” Salman on the active roster.

He provided the much-needed firepower that the side was missing in the previous two open qualifiers (Open Qualifier #2 and Open Qualifier #3) where Eternal Fire finished 9^th-16^th and 33^rd-64^th respectively.

With an overall HLTV rating of 1.29 across five maps and a K/D differential of +25, xfl0ud was the eighth-best CS:GO player at the tournament, just a few positions below his teammate and experienced rifler İsmailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş.

Eternal Fire finished in the third position at the PGL Major Antwerp 2022: European RMR - Open Qualifier #4 following a ‘16-3’ loss to Fnatic in the semifinals. However, it was enough for the Turkish team to qualify for the PGL Major Antwerp 2022: European RMR A where they will be going up against 15 other teams in a LAN setup, but only eight CS:GO teams will qualify further for the PGL Major Antwerp 2022.
