Shroud Explains Why Counter-Strike Players Are "The Best Gamers of All Time"
Shroud might stream Valorant but he still thinks highly of Counter-Strike players.
Canadian Twitch streamer and former professional CS:GO player Michael "shroud" Grzesiek had nothing but good things to say about veteran Counter-Strike players. In his 9th August Twitch stream, Shroud while talking about what kind of a game would be beneficial to players who want to improve their game mechanics across different shooting games, said that "I personally think that Counter-Strike, people who played CS like 1.6, 1.5 and still played it growing up, I truly believe those are the best gamers". Shroud did not mention the current version of the game, CS:GO in his response, instead giving credits to the older versions of the title which are still actively played around the world.
Shroud calls veteran CS 1.6, 1.5 players "best gamers of all time"
Shroud might have sided with Valorant on more than a few occasions in recent times calling it a slightly more stressful game than CS:GO as "everyone is a god damn king in this game" or suggesting why CS:GO professionals like Oleksandr “s1mple“ Kostyliev should switch to Valorant. But despite all this Shroud seems to hold Counter-Strike in high regards, well at least some versions of it.
In a recent stream while answering a doubt put forth by one of his viewers, Shroud spoke about what shooting game would be ideal for a gamer who is looking to improve his overall skills, and which would also effectively transfer over to another title.
Veteran CS 1.6 and 1.5 players are according to Shroud the best gamers of all time, as he goes on to say that "I swear, I swear on my mom. Those are the best gamers of all time in any game."
Shroud further said that he does not know the reason why those players are so good across multiple titles, and is something that just happens. Though he goes on to take a guess stating that,
My guess is that people that played 1.6 or even older than that, there were so many games and genres coming out, that they were playing it all. I don't think it has too much to do with the mechanics of the game itself. I just think it was the time at which those players played the game."Michael "shroud" Grzesiek
This comes just days after shroud had tried to stream CS:GO after a long time but had quit the game moments after entering a match, as the official Valve server suffered a DDoS (Distributed Denial-of-Service) attack. He had gone on to criticise Valve for what they had done to CS:GO in terms of accessibility, directly comparing it to Valorant.
