S1mple Talks About Difficult Period Faced by Na'Vi in First Half of 2021
S1mple speaks his mind on various topics.
Na'Vi star AWPer, Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev was in sublime form against Fnatic, as they kicked off their ESL Pro League Season 14 campaign with a win. While Na'Vi are performing really well as a team right now, things were a bit shaky in the first half of the year as Valerii "b1t" Vakhovskyi had just been introduced to the team's active roster. Talking on the same topic, s1mple expressed that it is always difficult for a team when a new player joins, practicing everything from scratch, getting the teamplay going. However, Na'Vi seems to have found its rhythm, having won two consecutive CS:GO tournaments in a row, including IEM Cologne 2021.
The 23-year-old spoke about a lot of other things like how he spent his player break, preparation for ESL Pro League S14, and even a few words about the new team psychologist.
S1mple talks about problems faced by Na'Vi in early 2021
The Ukrainian star, while speaking about the difficult period that Na'Vi went through in the first half of the 2021 competitive season, said that,
Yes, it is always difficult when a new player (b1t) comes in as you have to practice everything from scratch and get the teamplay going. It was hard losing back-to-back matches against Gambit, but in the end, we beat them and went on to win a LAN. But yeah, it was a tough one.Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev
Refering to the transition that Na'Vi had to go through when they decided to swap their veteran player, Egor "flamie" Vasilev, with the young rifler, b1t, Na'Vi was in a bit of a pinch for a few tournaments but came back strong eventually to win consecutive tournaments - StarLadder CIS RMR 2021 and IEM Cologne 2021.
Na'Vi has started on a high note at the ongoing ESL Pro League S14, handing a '2-0' defeat to Fnatic in their opening match where both s1mple and b1t seemed to be in great touch.
S1mple also went on to talk about the team's psychologists, praising them for helping out the team while saying that,
Yes, we've already had one session with her (Marina) and another with Gleb (another psychologist). She is working at improving our brain function, so to speak, where as Gleb's job is to ensure the team does not get tilted and we deal with issues right away instead of arguing.Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev
The lethal marksmen further goes on to talk about how he spent his vacations, Na'Vi bootcamp routine, how b1t is progressing as a player, main rivals going ahead, and a lot more things related to Counter-Strike.
