S1mple Names His Top 5 Best CS:GO Players of 2021

There has been a lot of activity in the Counter-Strike community about HLTV's CS:GO player rankings. While no major disputes have arisen so far, there was certainly a discussion to be had surrounding Denis "electronic" Sharipov being given the seventh spot, as some including the GOAT himself, Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev, expected electronic to be in the top five.
In a recent Twitch stream, s1mple, while conversing with his viewers went on to name his top five best CS:GO players from last year. The top three players named by him could end up being on HLTV's list as well, though the positioning might vary. However for the fifth place s1mple believes that electronic deserved it.
S1mple names his top-five best CS:GO players from the 2021 competitive season
The HLTV annual player rankings are an important part of the CS:GO community. It is considered to be the official player rankings which are majorly accepted by everyone within the Counter-Strike ecosystem, including the teams, players, tournament organizations, and more.
S1mple has always been an outspoken personality in the scene. This time, the star AWPer while conversing with his viewers on Twitch shared his thoughts on which players deserved to be in the top five rankings according to him.
This is what I think the rankings should be like - It should be me, then it should be Dmitriy "sh1ro" Sokolov, then Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut, then Nikola "NiKo" Kovač, and electronic.Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev
The 24-year-old further said that in his opinion, electronic deserved to be in the top five, but unfortunately he was handed seventh place on the official HLTV 2021 CS:GO player rankings.
S1mple went on to reveal that he did not even know the actual rankings that some of his teammates have received, which included electronic being handed the seventh place and Valeriy "b1t" Vakhovskiy being named the ninth best CS:GO player.
For now, the top three CS:GO players in the list are yet to be unveiled. They will be announced via a special award show that HLTV is organizing at a studio location in Copenhagen. It is scheduled to take place on 22nd January, and it is there that HLTV will reveal its best CS:GO player of 2021.
