This is not the first time that the roster is competing in such a tournament. The team represented India in the previous edition which was held in Eilat, Israel. The very same players had given their absolute best but finished eighth and now they will be looking to improve upon that result.
“It feels amazing to represent India again at the World Esports Championships (WEC) in back-to-back years. We definitely want to improve on our performances from last year and have been working very hard to do so. The team has done very well in showcasing its qualities in game while prevailing in all these qualifiers but the WEC final will be a stern test on a much higher level and we want to match that. I have high hopes from the tournament and we want to bring some glory from it back home,” said Defaulter, captain of the Indian CS:GO team.
The 2022 edition of the tournament features a total prize pool of $500,000 USD which will be split between six different titles CS:GO, Dota 2, Tekken 7, eFootball, PUBG Mobile, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. In total more than 120 countries will be competing in the 14th edition of the IESF World Esports Championship.
