The IEM Winter 2021 is all set to take place from 2nd to 12th December 2021, featuring 16 CS:GO teams that will be fighting it out in Stockholm, Sweden. The tournament will be taking place in a closed studio environment with a total prize pool of $250,000 USD.

This 11-day long event will be the last CS:GO tournament of the year and is being organized by ESL. It will be divided into two phases, Group Stage and the Playoffs, as the teams compete not just for the prize money but also for the crucial ESL Pro Tour points.

Group Stage

  • The 16 teams have been divided into two groups of eight teams each.

  • Both the groups will be following a double-elimination bracket.

  • The opening matches of both the groups will feature a best-of-one series.

  • All other matches of both the groups will follow a best-of-three series.

  • The top three teams from each group will move on to the Playoffs.

    Winners directly advance to the semifinals.

    Runners up advance to the quarterfinals - high seeds.

    Third placed teams also advance to the quarterfinals - low seeds.

Playoffs

  • The six qualified teams will be following a single-elimination bracket.

  • The quarterfinals and the semifinal matches will feature a best-of-three series.

  • The grand finals will witness a best-of-five series.
