The ongoing IEM Katowice 2022 is the first big CS:GO tournament of the ongoing competitive season with 24 teams participating in the event. It has been divided into three stages - Play-In, Group Stage, and Playoffs, scheduled to take place from 15^th to 27^th February with a total prize pool of $1,000,000 USD (INR 7,50,09,600).

While the entire tournament is being played in a LAN setup, only the Playoffs will be taking place at the Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland. It will be held in front of a live audience with the top six teams getting a chance to play on the big stage.

16 of the 24 teams start out with the Play-In Stage, but only eight of those teams make it through this stage of the tournament to book a slot in the Group Stage.
