IEM Chengdu 2024: All Invited and Qualified CS2 Teams

After four years, Intel Extreme Masters is returning to China with IEM Chengdu 2024 in the second week of April. It will consist of 16 teams from around the world, competing for a total prize pool of $250,000 USD and a direct slot for IEM Cologne 2024.

The tournament will be played offline from 8^th to 14^th April with the Playoffs scheduled to take place in front of a live audience at the Wuliangye Chengdu Performing Arts Centre, a multi-purpose arena with a capacity to seat 12,000 people.

IEM Chengdu 2024 will be the first top-tier Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournament that will be taking place in China this year, giving teams a chance to experience the esports culture in the country ahead of the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, scheduled to take place later this year from 1^st to 15^th December.

Plenty of details about the tournament are still awaited, but the complete list of participants is out. Here are all the invited and qualified CS2 teams that will feature in IEM Chengdu 2024.

A total of 16 teams will be competing in IEM Chengdu 2024 including six direct invites, four rank-based invites, and six qualified participants.

IEM Chengdu 2024 will take place in two phases, Group Stage and Playoffs.

• In the Group Stage all 16 teams will be divided into two groups of eight teams each, both following a double-elimination bracket where the opening matches are best-of-one, while all remaining matches are best-of-three.

• The top three teams from each group will qualify for the Playoffs, winners directly advancing to the semifinals while the remaining teams fight through the quarterfinals.

• Playoffs will feature a single-elimination bracket where all matches will be played as a best-of-three series.

The stakes will be high as teams will be competing for a total prize pool of $250,000 USD which will be split between all participants according to their final placement, the higher a team places the more money it will be entitled to.

In addition to this, the champion will also bag a direct slot in the upcoming ESL Pro Tour Championship Tournament - IEM Cologne 2024, scheduled to take place from 7^th to 18^th August 2024.
