Device Reportedly Initiates Talks With Several CS:GO Teams
The Danish star is making moves behind the scene!
The Danish star, Nicolai "device" Reedtz, has been out of the competitive circuit for more than eight months now. He took a step back from NIP's active CS:GO roster in December last year due to mental stress and fatigue, in a bid to take care of himself and recover.
Unfortunately, there has not been any update from his side or the Swedish organization about his potential return or future plans. Now, reports have surfaced claiming that the 26-year-old has been exploring other options outside of his current team behind closed doors.
According to Jaxon.gg, device has already held initial talks with several teams and organizations. If true, this does not come as any surprise with the summer player break acting as a huge mid-season transfer window in the competitive scene.
Report: Device might be exploring his options with other CS:GO teams
One of the best AWPers in the scene, device, might be looking to make a return to the competitive circuit, but not with Ninjas in Pyjamas.
He seems to have already had initial discussions with multiple CS:GO teams, most of them focused around him becoming a part of their existing lineup. However, a single instance has been reported where an upcoming new organization looking to enter competitive CS:GO has shown an interest in signing him alongside other Danish players.
For now, all this information should be taken with a grain of salt because no statements, hints, or even a tease has been presented in public by either of the two parties.
Though it must be noted that these reports have surfaced just a few days after NIP's captain, Hampus "hampus" Poser, had expressed that he does not expect device to return anytime soon, while further stating "This is the team we have now and I hope it stays that way."
Also, taking a quick look at device's FACEIT profile it is evident that he has been keeping in touch with the game ever since February 2022, consistently playing the game with a few breaks every now and then.
This week alone, device has played 12 games on FACEIT so far since 15th August, winning seven matches out of those. This goes on to show that he is still hot with the AWP and will not require a lot of time and effort to get back into shape.
The road ahead for device looks interesting. If he leaves NIP, which team will be able to cough up his buyout?
