K0nfig seems to be in high spirits after the surgery!
Complexity are currently playing in the ESL Pro League Season 14 with Niels "NaToSaphiX" Sillassen as their fifth player. He has temporarily replaced Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke on the active roster, who broke and dislocated his right wrist on 17th August. Giving an update on his situation following surgery, k0nfig stated that he had stopped taking morphine and though he can still sense the pain, he has started feeling like himself again. The Danish hybrid player had earlier stated that following surgery, he would be out of action for about four to six weeks, forcing Complexity to go into the tournament with a last minute substitute.
K0nfig provides update on his wrist injury
ESL Pro League Season 14 was a big tournament right after the player break, so it was quite a shock for Complexity to lose k0nfig due to his sudden injury at the very last second.
According to k0nfig, while walking in an airport he was busy looking at his phone when he slipped due to water spilled on the floor. He fell down only for his hand to slam into the handrail which resulted in his wrist breaking and dislocating.
K0nfig further revealed that during the initial assessment of his wrist in Serbia, his broken wrist was not noticed. However, when he went to see a doctor the next day, an emergency surgery was scheduled immediately.
Talking about his recovery following the surgery, k0nfig had said that,
A specialist will do the surgery and I will have to wear a cast for about 4-6 weeks and then some training to get back on track. I love you all, and I'm sorry. I wish I could turn back time.Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke
A day later on 19th August, k0nfig updated everyone by saying that metal rods had been surgically inserted to provide his wrist with the necessary support required to heal properly.
His final update about his wrist injury was that he had stopped taking morphine and he had started feeling like himself again, although there's also pain in his arm. The 24-year-old has been supporting Complexity hard as they are currently place third in their group, having won and lost a match each.
It will be interesting to see how far Complexity will manage to go in the tournament considering that they are competing handicapped.
