BLAST confirms the first CS:GO Major of 2023.
One of the biggest CS:GO tournament organizers in the world, BLAST has announced the first ever Major to take place in France - BLAST Paris Major 2023, marking its own debut in hosting one of the most watched and celebrated esports event in the world.
The announcement of the Paris Major scheduled to take place in May 2023 was made by the French president himself - Emmanuel Macron, staying committed to his pre-election campaign statements from earlier this year about hosting some of the biggest esports events like CS:GO Majors, League of Legends World Championships, and Dota 2’s The International.
Here are all the details that have been revealed and confirmed by BLAST about the upcoming BLAST Paris Major 2023.
BLAST Paris Major 2023 - The first CS:GO Major to take place in France
A lot of first's will be witnessed next year as BLAST will be hosting the first CS:GO Major of 2023, organizing its first Major tournament, taking place in France for the first time ever.
Schedule and Dates
BLAST Paris Major 2023 will be taking place from 8th to 21st May, with its RMR (Regional Major Ranking) qualifiers set to run through the months of February and March, followed by the main RMR tournaments which will be held from 3rd to 9th April.
RMR Qualifiers: February - March 2023 (exact dates TBD)
Final RMR Events: 3rd to 9th April 2023
BLAST Paris Major 2023: 8th to 21st May
Challengers stage: 8th to11th May
Legends stage: 13th to 16th May
Champions stage: 18th to 21st May
Location
The CS:GO Major will be returning to Europe once again in 2023 following the IEM Rio Major 2022 which is scheduled to take place later this year from 31st October to 13th November.
This will be the first time that such a tournament will be held in France with its capital Paris being shortlisted as the host city.
The first two stages of the CS:GO Major will be played on LAN behind closed doors, followed by the Playoffs or Champions Stage taking place at the Accor Arena, an indoor sports arena and concert hall which has a capacity to seat anywhere between 7,000 to 20,300 spectators.
