Just a week before G2 Esports was set to begin its 2022 season with BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2022, the organization underwent its final player transfer as they swapped Nemanja "nexa" Isaković for Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen with OG.

This is not the first time that Aleksib is part of an international CS:GO roster. He brings with him tons of experience and exposure for the team. The 24-year-old in a recent interview with HLTV shared why he left OG and decided to join G2, spoke about his learnings from the past so as to not repeat the same mistakes twice, and what he brings to the table as a player.

An important detail that G2 Esports has focussed upon is changing its leadership department. Firstly they brought in the French veteran Rémy "XTQZZZ" Quoniam in place of Damien "maLeK" Marcel as their CS:GO head coach, followed by the swapping of the captains with OG.

Another important addition to G2's roster was the signing of upcoming debutant Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov from NAVI's academy team. G2 was in dire need of a dedicated AWPer and they decided to take a chance on this Russian CS:GO prodigy.

Coming into this mix, Aleksib is well aware of his tendency to micromanage members of the team, something that he would be keeping in check. Also, he personally believes that such methods will only pull the team down as both Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač and Nikola "NiKo" Kovač need to be given the proper freedom for utilizing their full potential given the stars players that they are

Talking about why he decided to leave OG, a team that he had been a part of since day one, Aleksib said that for him this move was a no-brainer because of the players involved in it.

I had enough time to think about everything, and in the end I thought it would be stupid of me not to make this move. The players I heard would be playing for this team, overall, I thought if this window closes and something goes wrong with OG in the next couple of months, or we just somehow don't get the ball rolling, I would most likely regret it.

The revamped G2 Esports roster will be making its season debut later today against Complexity at the BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2022. Both the organizations are fielding new rosters as Complexity recently signed the core of Extra Salt along with Michael "Grim" Wince and Paytyn "junior" Johnson from Liquid and Furia, respectively.
