Countries with maximum Global Elite CS:GO players based on their total user base
From the infographics shared below, one can observe how the total CS:GO player base is distributed across the world. There are some countries that have not been included as no specific data is available on them. While all the countries in the top ten lie above the 2% mark including Belgium which is right on the boundary, there is only one country that breaks away with a huge lead and that is Finland with a massive 4.32% of its total CS:GO player base having attained the Global Elite status.
A few interesting observations that we can draw solely based on the data collected are as follows,
- Finland despite having a huge percentage of Global Elite CS:GO players only has one CS:GO team in the top-tier of competitive Counter-Strike, ENCE. The Finnish organization did have a dream run in the first half of 2019 but has since lost its position in the upper echelons of the competitive circuit.
Even in the tier-two and tier-three European circuit, Finnish teams fail to make a significant dent and reign supreme, an issue that teams and organizations hailing from the region might want to look into and address as a lot of potential talent seem to be getting wasted or simply buried. - It was surprising to see Austria make its way into the top-four just because of its size and no significant team from the region ever making its way to the top. Despite a lot of CS:GO players playing competitively from the region, there are no star players that have risen to the top in recent times.
But despite all this, Austria continues to produce a lot of Global Elite CS:GO players meaning that the competition between the casual players is quite high. - Brazil for all the hate that the region gets for having a rough and unruly fan base proves itself to be a talented region with 1.88% of its total CS:GO player base attaining a Global Elite rank. This is a good number for a country where 6,177 people out of every million citizens play CS:GO casually.
- It was a bit disheartening to see Poland struggle with only 1.35% of its CS:GO users being Global Elite. They could certainly use a boost considering that the legendary Virtus.pro lineup made up of Polish players used to dominate competitive Counter-Strike just a few years ago. The region is definitely still big on CS:GO, but they can certainly improve more and keep up with the region’s history.
