  • CS:GO level designer recreates aged and post-apocalyptic versions of popular maps like Inferno, Office, Overpass, Mirage.
  • The collection titled 'Maps 2055 Collection' received a lot of positive appreciation from the community members.
  • Mirage 2055 is the most awarded map from the collection on Steam while Overpass 2055 looks the best.

One of the best things about CS:GO is the open nature of the game. Valve has established an effective system that connects the community members to CS:GO on a whole different level, basically giving them free access to almost everything. Users are free to modify the game as per their requirements, this includes the ability to modify pre-existing maps, something that level designer ‘BARS’ excels at. The Russian creator recently produced an aged, post-apocalyptic version of multiple popular CS:GO maps like Inferno, Mirage, Overpass, and Office, which have gone viral within the gaming community, receiving positive remarks and numerous awards on the Steam Workshop.

User Recreates Post Apocalyptic Versions of Multiple CS:GO Maps

‘BARS’ has come forward to present the CS:GO community with multiple redesigned maps and they have received huge praise from the majority of the users. These maps give a glimpse of how Inferno, Mirage, Overpass, and Office might look a few years down the road, aged and probably having faced an apocalyptic event.

The collection of these four maps called ‘Maps 2055 Collection’ follows a common theme, all of them looking abandoned while being physically battered. The most awarded map from the collection was Mirage 2055, but the one that looks and fits the best within this theme is none other than Overpass 2055. Let’s take a quick look at all four maps,

Inferno 2055

The most popular spot on the map ‘Banana’ looked quite eerie with a lot of grass and moss covering the small alleyway. There was a thick tree trunk blocking the small notch on the left and overall there was a lot less sunlight in the area now.

Apart from this, some other spots on the map that was really well done included the T-Spawn, Construction, and Apartment. These 3 locations were just too good and perfectly fit the aesthetics as per the theme.

Office 2055

The map which is enjoyed quite a lot by the casual userbase looks like something straight out of a zombie game or movie. This could very well turn into a map that fits right into a new zombie-related game mode, something that Valve could potentially try out if they feel frisky enough maybe on Halloween’s this year.

Overpass 2055

Overpass was the best map to match the vibe of this theme, especially the bathroom area, sewers, and the open ‘B-Site’. The overgrowth of trees, grass, shrubbery, beautifully added to the already present aesthetics of the map, making it look even better.

The broken train bridge with the middle part left standing was simply the most iconic part of this redesign that significantly stands out.

Mirage 2055

The most popular and played CS:GO map Mirage was also the most awarded among the ones present in the collection. It might not have been the best, but definitely fit the theme pretty well, despite the fact that the town seems to be in the middle of a desert. The walls were broken down and battered with a little less overgrowth, which were mostly limited to the top of structures.
