The MVP of DreamHack Masters Spring 2021 Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev in a post-match interview with the organizers went on to thank his teammates, following the grand final victory against Gambit. He specifically appreciated the Na’Vi entry fragger Denis "electronic" Sharipov, who was the standout player for the side on Train with a whopping 31 kills to his name. Apart from this, s1mple also had a strong message for all the haters as they had previously raised a question about his motivation and work ethic. His powerful performance throughout this tournament was a testament to the fact that he is still one of the best in the business, without a hint of doubt.

S1mple appreciates his teammates

Despite being the MVP of the tournament, s1mple had nothing but praise for his teammates especially electronic who was the standout player for the side during the grand final. All the Na’Vi players stood up to the challenge handing Gambit a straight ‘3-0’ defeat, the only player that might have had an off day was Ilya 'Perfecto' Zalutskiy. This is what s1mple had to say about electronic in the post-match interview,

“He just knows that he would just show up in an important moment. It is so great job when he started to just own, I think it is because of him that we won most of the rounds (on Train) because of his entries. But still, the game plan by Boombl4 and B1ad3 was always the same and everything was working.”

S1mple claps back at all the haters

Having appreciated the effort that the entire team had made, s1mple went on to deliver a strong message to all the haters that had questioned his work ethic and loss of motivation. As he further went on to state that,

“I am just happy for my team and I am sad for (the) haters. Those people say that someone is playing bad and he does not understand the problem that he (the player) has right now in real life, and because of it he is just trying to wake up himself you know. Feel bad for haters - nobody lost motivation, nobody has stopped practicing, everything is great.”

The backstory here is that some users had started to point a finger at s1mple after he had started streaming Valorant on Twitch. Na’Vi at that point in time was not performing too well and with rumours about a potential switch cropping up, a few users had started talking about his loss of motivation, among other such things.

Though s1mple had responded to all the speculations and rumours, shutting them down immediately. There was still some doubt in the minds of the haters, which might have cleared up now as s1mple has gone on to dominate the entire tournament on the back of multiple top-notch performances.
