Chinese CS:GO platform 5EPlay recently launched ‘5E Arena International’ within Asia, giving players from the region a solid platform for competing in CS:GO at an international level. As part of this launch, 5E has come forward to announce a regional CS:GO tournament ‘5E Arena Open’ for Southeast Asia and East Asia regions. These grassroots level regional tournaments will be featuring a total prize pool of $10,000 USD, along with 8 slots in the upcoming FUNSPARK ULTI Regional Series Season 1 Asia - which is another regional qualifier for an international CS:GO tournament being organized by 5EPlay and Funspark later this year.

5E announces 5E Arena Open featuring $10,000 prize pool

5E Arena Open is one of the first CS:GO tournament series being hosted by 5E Arena International. At the moment, this tournament will be taking place in East Asia and SEA regions, but according to 5E there will be more such tournaments for other regions in the future.

“5E Arena Open will be the first of the many tournaments organized by 5E as part of our efforts to give back to the CS:GO community in Asia. 5E aims to provide competitions that are accessible to all levels of CS:GO players across the region.”

The inaugural season of 5E Arena Open is featuring a total prize pool of $10,000, split equally between the 2 regions. Apart from this, the top 4 teams from each region will directly qualify for the upcoming FUNSPARK ULTI Regional Series Season 1 Asia, which will be acting as the Asian qualifier for the international CS:GO tournament Funspark ULTI 2021 scheduled to take place on LAN in December 2021.

5E Arena Open: East Asia

The registrations for the East Asia region is currently ongoing and interested teams or players should register themselves before 19 March, which is the last day for registration. Only the first 128 teams will be able to participate in the tournament, which will feature a Group Stage followed by the Playoffs.

The group stage is scheduled to take place from 20-22 March and will be following a single elimination BO1 format. A total of 8 groups will be made, each group featuring a total of 16 teams. The winner of each group will proceed further into the Playoffs stage which will take place from 23-24 March. The top 4 teams will further qualify for FUNSPARK ULTI Regional Series Season 1 Asia.

The $5,000 prize pool for the East Asia region will be divided between all the 8 CS:GO teams that make it to the Playoffs stage.

Note: All the matches will be played on the Hong Kong server for this tournament.

The registrations for the Southeast Asia region is currently ongoing and interested teams or players should register themselves before 19 March, which is the last day for registration. Only the first 128 teams will be able to participate in the tournament, which will feature a Group Stage followed by the Playoffs.

The group stage is scheduled to take place from 20-22 March and will be following a single elimination BO1 format. A total of 8 groups will be made, each group featuring a total of 16 teams. The winner of each group will proceed further into the Playoffs stage which will take place from 25-26 March. The top 4 teams will further qualify for FUNSPARK ULTI Regional Series Season 1 Asia.

The $5,000 prize pool for the SEA region will be divided between all the 8 CS:GO teams that make it to the Playoffs stage.

Note: All the matches will be played on the Singapore server for this tournament.
