  • OG is reportedly interested in signing Danish rifler niko who is currently on HEROIC's bench.
  • Niko would be coming in as NBK-'s replacement who departed the team a few days back.
  • The negotiations are reportedly still in early stages but OG will have to sign someone soon as ESL Pro League S13 starts in less than a week.

Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen who is currently sitting on HEROIC’s bench might be joining OG’s CS:GO roster soon, to accompany Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen and his crew just ahead of the upcoming ESL Pro League Season 13. In a report by HLTV, it was confirmed that OG are interested in signing the Danish rifler to replace their recently benched player Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt on the active lineup. HEROIC has already filled the vacancy on their active lineup following the benching of niko, but OG are still looking for someone to complete their team and have reportedly initiated a discussion with niko. But they would have to fast track the process as EPL Season 13 is scheduled to start in a week’s time on March 8.

OG reportedly interested in HEROIC’s benched rifler niko

The 22-year-old Dane niko who most recently played with HEROIC might soon be picked up by OG to complete their CS:GO lineup, as per incoming reports. Niko was benched from HEROIC after the team was unable to find the form and success they had reached in 2020, following their Cinderella run at ESL One: Cologne 2020 Online - Europe.

HEROIC’s early group stage exit from the recently concluded IEM Katowice 2021 is a big reason why they decided to bench both their riflers, niko and Johannes "b0RUP" Borup. Instantly replacing them with two new Danish riflers - Ismail “refrezh” Ali and Rasmus “sjuush” Beck, who made their way into HEROIC’s active lineup from MAD Lions.

With season 13 of ESL Pro League less than a week away, OG are still in search of someone to complete their CS:GO lineup which has a vacancy following Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt’s departure from the team due to their consistent poor run, especially since the start of 2021. As per an earlier statement released by VaKarm, there was a difference in opinion about how the team should play in-game between NBK- and the rest of the team, due to which the French rifler decided to step down.

A report by HLTV states that OG is interested in acquiring niko as their fifth permanent player and are in early stages of negotiations with him. If this signing turns out to be true, niko will be reuniting with his former teammate Valdemar "valde" Vangså and coach Casper "ruggah" Due, which might be one of the reasons why OG is interested in signing him.

2020 seems far away and distant now, as both HEROIC and OG have made roster changes to address their slow and lackluster start of the 2021 competitive season. It will be interesting to see if their revamped rosters help turn things around for them or not.
