iBUYPOWER coming back to CS:GO?
A couple of cryptic tweets that iBUYPOWER has put out in the last 10 days seems to be a signal towards their possible return to competitive CS:GO. The first tweet that they had posted on 18 Feb simply stated “CS:GO”, while the other which was published yesterday read “WE HAVE A PLAN”.
iBUYPOWER had stepped down from CS:GO in Jan 2015 after all their signed CS:GO players left the organization following the infamous ‘North American Match-Fixing Scandal’. Keven “AZK” Larivière, Braxton “swag” Pierce, Sam “DaZeD” Marine, and Josh “steel” Nissan were all handed a permanent ban from Valve-sponsored tournaments, as a result of being found guilty in the incident.
Their cryptic social media messages have spurred a discussion within the community that may mark their return to CS:GO after 6 years. Many CS:GO personalities like Mohan "launders" Govindasamy, Erik "fl0m" Flom, David "prius" Kuntz, along with CS:GO teams like Ninjas In Pyjamas, Astralis, and Gambit Esports, has responded to iBUYPOWER’s tweet.
This has only given rise to more speculations and rumours about who the North American organization might be looking to sign. The most speculated rumour is that they might sign a complete Brazilian lineup called ‘O PLANO’ which consists of the following players,
- Vito “kNgV-” Giuseppe
- Henrique “HEN1” Teles
- Lucas “LUCAS1” Teles
- Alencar “trk” Rossato
- Leonardo “leo_drk” Oliveira

iBUYPOWER speculated to sign a Brazilian roster
The ex-MIBR roster who had competed under the Brazilian organization’s banner towards the tail end of 2020 and was let go off, have come together as a team called ‘O PLANO’ after failing to find a suitable organization initially.
‘O PLANO’ is a Portuguese word that directly translates to ‘The Plan’ in English, and the latest tweet by iBUYPOWER reads “WE HAVE A PLAN”. The CS:GO community put two and two together and came to the conclusion that ‘O PLANO’ might be the team that iBUYPOWER signs if they return to CS:GO once again.
It will be interesting to see if iBUYPOWER announces their return or not, and how exactly does the CS:GO community react to it. Signing the Brazilian roster might be a plus though, as they have proved to be quite the force to reckon with in their limited time representing MIBR.
