  • Former 100 Thieves lineup along with BnTeT come together under the banner of EXTREMUM.
  • EXTREMUM is a Russian esports organization and this will be the first international CS:GO team signed by them.
  • The players will be competing in Europe mostly but will be travelling to North America to participate in certain RMR tournaments.

The heavily speculated reformation of the former 100 Thieves roster along with Hansel “BnTeT” Ferdinand under the banner of Russian esports organization EXTREMUM was finally announced yesterday on 24 Jan. This marks the return for both the players and the organization, who stepped down from CS:GO briefly in October last year.

EXTREMUM CS:GO - Former 100 Thieves combines with BnTeT

This is the first time since its inception in 2019 that EXTREMUM has picked up an international CS:GO roster. The Russian organization is ready to step into the top tier competitive circuit as it signs the complete ex-100 Thieves roster with just one change, BnTeT replacing Justin “jks” Savage.

The lineup has been gathered from different teams,

  • Aaron “AZR” Ward, Jay “Liazz” Tregillgas, and Sean “Gratisfaction” Kaiwai make their way directly from 100 Thieves.

  • Joakim “jkaem“ Myrbostad has been acquired from Apeks which in all honesty was not a smooth acquisition and definitely left a sour taste for the Norwegian organization.

  • BnTeT has been transferred from Gen.G Esports who gave him a chance to move out of Asia in 2019, He is a replacement for jks who has found a new home with Complexity Gaming.

  • Finally, their coach Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunovic after a fallout with Cloud9 has been quickly picked up by EXTREMUM, bringing him home once again.

According to HLTV, the team looks forward to competing from Europe itself but will be travelling to North America to participate in some specific RMR tournaments “in order to retain their points and try to qualify for PGL Major Stockholm 2021”

AZR further revealed that it was always the team’s aim to move over to Europe ever since the competitive CS:GO scene shifted online and that EXTREMUM’s offer suited him the best. The organization gave him an opportunity to make his own roster and well, the rest is history.

In a statement to HLTV AZR said that "I am so excited to play CS with my good old teammates Liazz, Grats, Jkaem, and kassad, and with our new teammate BnTeT, who will be a great addition to the team. We're looking forward to playing in Europe and grinding against the best in the world. The boys are back!"

It will be interesting to see how the team performs in a new region, where the level of Counter-Strike currently being played competitively is on a whole different scale. The decision to retain their RMR points means that the team is very serious about doing everything possible to at least make it to the Majors.
