GeT_RiGhT Steps Down From Competitive CS:GO

In a huge announcement that the Swede had been teasing for quite a while now, the 30-year-old has finally spoken about his future. GeT_RiGhT has taken an indefinite break from professional Counter-Strike which may or may not turn out to be his retirement.

The Swedish legend was part of the historic ‘87-0’ map win streak in CS:GO with Ninjas in Pyjamas while also winning a CS:GO Major, ESL One Cologne 2014. He was the best CS player in the world back in 2011 while being the best CS:GO player for two consecutive years, 2013 and 2014.

After being benched in September last year from Dignitas’ active roster, GeT_RiGhT had stepped away from the competitive scene for more than four months before making the announcement today. In a video by Dignitas, he goes on to speak about what he did during this period, stuff related to his health, how he might come back to compete again if he ever felt the itch, and his transition to now being a content creator and a streamer.

GeT_RiGhT Turns Into A Content Creator & Streamer

With more than half a million followers on his Twitch channel and a loyal following within the CS:GO community, GeT_RiGhT could indeed turn into a successful streamer and content creator if he does everything right.

“I’m going to be playing a lot of Valorant, League of Legends, Warzone, CS:GO of course that’s going to happen, but other games that’s coming up as well. I am not going to focus super hard on one specific game, I’m going to be playing everything basically.”

He goes on to talk about his management team and the universe they have been creating together for his viewers, which is going to be an underground bunker. GeT_RiGhT explained that he is going to take this opportunity to not be his competitive side and instead just be who he really is on a day-to-day basis.

“This is going to be more me and more me doing things that I love to do. Now I am going to show off the real person instead.”

It will be interesting to see how GeT_RiGhT does in the new role that he has taken up and the legacy that he has left behind will forever be a golden chapter in the history of Counter-Strike.
