With Christmas just a month away Berlin-based GRID has come forward to announce a fundraiser for mental health called ‘The Fight Before Christmas’ through a streamer based CS:GO competition which is scheduled to take place on 6th December. All the proceeds from the event will be donated to a UK based mental health charity ‘Rethink Mental Illness’ to help support those in need.
GRID has come forward to announce a wingman mode CS:GO competition for streamers which doubles up as a fundraiser for a mental health charity called ‘Rethink Mental Illness’. The tournament which is scheduled to start from 6th December - 12:00 CET (16:30 IST) will feature a total of eight mixed-gender teams as GRID partners with WIDE.GG to celebrate diversity while also “helping females to feel more encouraged about competing amongst male participants.”
For now, only two of the eight teams have been announced with the first team comprising of Julia “Juliano” Kiran and Ilya “m0NESY“ Osipov while the second consists of Piotr “Izak” Skowyrski and Kamila “Firiringirl” Kopij.
The remaining six teams will be announced in the days leading up to the CS:GO event which is being produced by Relog Media and will be broadcasted live on TheEsportBible’s Twitch channel.
The talent for the event has not been finalised yet and GRID are actually still looking to hear from talent who are willing to get involved as they state that the broadcast aims to enjoy more with the community rather than focusing on a heavy commentating format.
Harry Wiggett from GRID says that “Here at GRID we felt the need to celebrate the end of 2020 with some refreshing CS:GO content for the community. It’s been a wildly unpredictable year that we at GRID are thankful to have survived, personally & professionally. Together with our partners, we are now happy to raise funds and raise awareness on mental health.”
