Cloud9 Reacts to Early Elimination From Flashpoint Season 2
  • 'Cloud9 Colossus' breaks down at Flashpoint Season 2 after suffering two consecutive losses.
  • The players react in different ways as some find solace in memes while other take an emotional approach.
  • The new Cloud9 lineup has not registered a single map win so far in two matches.

The ‘Cloud9 Colossus’ got stomped at Flashpoint Season 2 after facing back-to-back loses against Virtus.pro and OG as they failed to win even a single map in the course of the tournament. The North American organization lost four consecutive maps which resulted in early elimination from the tournament after their in-game leader Alex “ALEX” McMeekin promised nothing short of a victory.

The community stood divided as some offered support while the rest labelled them as ‘Clown9’ all over again. The players and the management reacted differently to the situation as some found solace in memes while others kept it straight to the point.

After dropping their first match against VP their supporters were still hopeful for a victory but sadly they had to see Cloud9 depart without registering a single win, as the team would now have to wait till BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 Showdown to register their first competitive win with the new lineup.

As haters turned up it was ALEX and HenryG who fought back with memes themselves as the former made a tweet inspired by Donald Trump while the latter shared an image of himself dressed as a clown in reference to the trending ‘Clown9’.

To balance it out Cloud9’s coach Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunovic came forth with a more sentimental message as he said that they are going to deal through this as a team and he is still proud of the team.

Floppy also took a sober approach to the whole situation as he acknowledged that they performed much better than their first game and he thinks “with more practice over time we (Cloud9) will grow stronger!”

Both mezii and woxic were not too thrilled about sending out any long drawn explanations and delivered straight facts in one short sentence to cover it up nicely.

This was still better than how the Danish rifler es3tag reacted by doing absolutely nothing, he was the only member of the Cloud9 CS:GO team who did not bother making any sort of a statement. Guess he likes to shut everyone through his action rather than just yap away on social media!

Cloud9 themselves hyped their CS:GO lineup with a lot of promise and fanfare. After all that if they could not live up to what they had intended to do well a bit of hate and banter from the community was likely to follow. The revamped lineup made from scratch on whom the North American organization has spent millions of dollars has not registered their first competitive win so far.

It will be interesting to see what kind of performance can Cloud9 pull off in the upcoming BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 Showdown which is scheduled to start from 23rd November in exactly a weeks time.
