How often does one come across a glimpse of culture and mythology being beautifully represented through weapon skins and other cosmetics within CS:GO? Well, this talented artist who goes by the moniker of Apel on Steam has created a whole weapon collection themed on the Hindu Mythology and one look at these skins is enough to knock the socks off your feet!
The collection of gun skins which goes by the name of ‘Hindu Collection’ has skins for weapons like MAG-7, USP-S, AWP. and MP5-SD. Each weapon has been themed on one mythological character and carries with it a distinct ancient styling which makes them feel rustic, old, and authentic.
Each weapon has been engraved somewhere on its body with its own name but in the Hindi language which is a subtle addition to the skin collection that makes it more attractive. Here is a quick look at each one of the weapons mentioned above.
The MAG-7 is quite a popular gun which might not always be in line with the team’s strategy but always works like a charm when collecting some style points. Based on a Hindu mythological character whose upper half is that of a lion while the lower half is that of a human, the powerful short-ranged weapon is a great depiction of the powerful character which goes on to show the research done by the creator before creating the skin.
A household name within India Ganesha is the perfect mythological character for the silenced pistol which is the most popular secondary weapon within the game while playing CT-sided. This once again goes on to show how perfectly the creator has chosen each character for every weapon.
The main body of the weapon shows the torso of the mythological character but the beauty of the weapon lies in the remarkably detailed silencer which is covered with several design features that give it a very ethnic touch endemic to the Indian region.
The bolt action rifle which is the strongest weapon in the game has been dedicated to Shiva who is also known as ‘The Destroyer’. This skin was recently being discussed within the CS:GO community on Reddit and it seemed that there was genuine interest for it.
The main body of the weapon shows a glimpse of the mythological character with the scope and tail end of the weapon complimenting this main design really well. The creator could have implemented some snakes into the design of the skin also as they are synonymous with Shiva and would have provided some great micro details for the barrel.
The devilish looking MP5 following a red coloured theme similar to ‘Agni’ which directly translates to ‘Fire’ in English is the most demanded weapon within the skin collection, having collected numerous awards since its release due to its attractive design and aesthetically pleasing features.
The face of the mythological character can be seen spewing fire out of his mouths on the main body as the flames proceed to make a brilliant design down the wide part of the submachine gun before it converges into the cylindrical barrel that has a minimalistic golden design finish.
Apel has done a fantastic job on the Hindu mythological gun skin collection selecting the characters to represent every weapon really well while doing complete justice to their ethnic yet appealing design features. Also, this is not the only mythological collection made by the artist as he has also made the ‘Ancient Greek Collection’ and ‘Egyptian Collection’ both of which are also really good.
