The Chinese rivalry between ViCi Gaming and TYLOO which for a long time had been favoring the latter has finally shifted sides as ViCi defeated them in the upper bracket final of Perfect World Asia League Fall 2020. With this victory, ViCi has finally broken the curse after having lost 13 consecutive series against TYLOO to become the first finalist of the Fall Major qualifier.
ViCi Gaming after having lost 13 consecutive series against TYLOO has finally emerged victorious and reached the final of PAL Fall 2020. Their last victory came against TYLOO back in March 2020 when they defeated them in the finals of ESL One Rio 2020 - Asia Minor Greater China Closed Qualifier.
Now more than seven months later they have defeated them again, but there is still a chance of them facing TYLOO again in the final if they are able to find victory against the Mongolian roster of TIGER tomorrow.
This was not an easy victory for ViCi who despite losing on Train had to slog it out hard on Mirage and Overpass both of which went into overtime. TYLOO putting up a strong performance but it was Yi 'JamYoung' Yang from ViCi who came out on top with an average ADR of 85.8 and an overall rating of 1.25.
Both the teams have had a lot of close series leading up to tonight’s match, of their last 13 encounters 10 have resulted in the series going down to the last map while only 3 have been a clean sweep for TYLOO. ViCi mostly wins their map pick while TYLOO takes the rest, but it seems that the former is slowly learning a few new moves to edge past them.
While ViCi has been congratulated for this victory the main challenge of defeating TYLOO in the final of a tournament still lies ahead that is if they faceoff against each other, as they have lost five consecutive finals to them before this tournament.
