Former Evil Geniuses coach Chet “ImAPet” Singh has joined the North American organization 100 Thieves as their Head Coach, after being without a team for just under two months. The 23-year-old posted his thoughts on TwitLonger stating that “Today starts a new chapter in my life.”
He touched upon the fact that how being without a team was a scary time for him, providing a reason for his worry by saying that “Corona has pretty much limited a lot of CSGO opportunities and opportunities given weren’t exactly what I would call living up to my expectations. Thankfully, I gave it enough time and didn’t sign my life away to Valorant where I was able to find a squad that I have a lot of faith in and they seem to have the same for me.”
Thanking 100 Thieves for the opportunity and celebrating the fact that he can continue his journey in competitive CS:GO, he talked about entering an experimental phase with 100 Thieves where they would be trying “a lot of new things out of our comfort zones during this online season which I think will benefit us more long term ideally.”
ImAPet has been coaching professionally since the past four years witnessing a lot of success in the past two years with the NRG lineup that was later picked up by EG. Now, working with another big organization the future looks good for him.
The scary thing right now is that any coach or player who is talented and motivated to achieve something, if not picked up by a CS:GO organization or not given the perfect opportunity, has the freedom to pivot and pursue a career in VALORANT. The above example of Singh being hunted and offered a good position with a VALORANT lineup is a perfect example of how the upcoming tactical shooter even without a well-defined esport scene is causing trouble for CS:GO.
