  • ENCE officially signs Elias "Jamppi" Olkkonen for a two-year contract.

  • The Finnish organization will be implementing a six-man roster with Jamppi replacing xseveN in all tournaments except for Major qualifiers and the Major itself.

  • ENCE are in-support of Jamppi in his fight against Valve, in order to overturn their decision which bars him from playing in the Majors.

After a lot of speculation behind ENCE looking to sign the VAC banned player Elias "Jamppi" Olkkonen as their sixth player, the Finnish organization have finally announced the signing of the young rifler to a two-year contract.

The organization stated that they were officially signing Jamppi “Finland’s most talented Counter-Strike prospect,” and with it are creating a six-man roster. They further revealed that the move is being made as the organization has yielded disappointing results in the last few months and in order to “rectify the current lack of results we have signed Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen to a two-year contract.”

ENCE also stated that the six-man roster is being implemented to fight fatigue as it takes “toll on the players mentally and physically,” so as to improve the overall performance.

The Finnish organization clarified that they are in support of Jamppi “in his pursuit to overturn the decision,” of him not being able to compete in the Major tournaments due to his alleged connections to a VAC banned Steam account.

“We as an organization are urging the Counter-Strike Professional Players’ Association (CSSPA) to take his case seriously not only for Elias but for its implications on similar cases in the future, which may deny talented individuals from a chance at a professional career for alleged mistakes years earlier, while in many cases underaged.”

Jamppi who holds an impressive rating of 1.18 according to HLTV is an exceptionally versatile player who is known for his flashy plays with the AWP while being quite reliable with a rifle as well. The 18-year-old is a talented prospect who is finally getting a chance to showcase his abilities on the big stage after he missed an opportunity of signing with OG CS:GO last year due to his still unresolved issues with Valve.

ENCE will be seen in action along with Jamppi in the upcoming DreamHack Masters Spring and BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown 2020 but will be sitting out on ESL One: Road to Rio due to it being a qualifier tournament for the Rio Major.

As predicted, he will be replacing Sami “xseveN” Laasanen on the ENCE lineup for the two tournaments he will be playing in, as Jamppi states that “I’m very happy to be joining ENCE today and can’t wait to get our games started. This is a chance I’ve been waiting to get and I’m hoping we can make ENCE fans happy with great results in the future.”

ENCE is the second CS:GO organization to play with a six-man roster following Astralis’ lead, who had signed Patrick “es3tag” Hansen late last month. Their basic approach right now seems to be the implementation of a rotating six-man roster which will witness xseveN being moved to the bench, for all tournaments except when it comes to playing in the Major Qualifiers and the Major itself.
