PUBG Mobile Copies Multiple Weapon Skins from CS:GO

It looks like PUBG Mobile might be taking some inspiration from CS:GO when it comes to weapon skins, with many users pointing out the pretty obvious similarity between PUBG Mobile’s “Psycho Savage” skin for M16A4 in comparison to CS:GO’s “Neon Revolution” skin for AK47.

The two weapon skins which look identical to each other at first glance, have just two major differences between them. One of them being the word “Anarchy” on the AK47 replaced by some other word on the M16A4, while the other difference is the addition of ‘two white stripes’ on the front part of the M16A4 which is absent on AK47.

While some fans of the mobile-based battle royale game might be defending the claim of the two weapon skins being similar to each other, we can all see what is there right in front of us. Also, this is not the first time a weapon skin from CS:GO has been copied. The weapon skin named “Phantom” for the QBZ-95 in PUBG is also a direct copy of the “Neo-Noir” weapon skin used by various weapons in CS:GO.

While I do agree that “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery,” in the world of gaming these weapon skins are often created by other artists, and blatantly copying these skins from other games is a sign of disrespect towards the original creator. Hence such acts are hugely frowned upon within the gaming community.

So to add a little more to the comment made above, “Imitation might be the sincerest form of flattery, but it also reflects the lowest level of imagination and creativity.”
