It looks like there is nothing that can stop the growth of Counter-Strike at the moment. The game within ten days of crossing the million concurrent user mark has just broken that record by creating a new peak of 1,100,244 concurrent players.

The coronavirus pandemic that has millions of people quarantined within their homes, seems to have acted as a catalyst for the already growing game, as a sudden surge of users has helped the game increase its average concurrent player count with the current record-breaking number reading 616,244.1.

An interesting thing to notice here is that in the last 30-days the game seems to have attracted a whole lot of new players, with 72,264.9 unique players joining the veteran first-person shooter. This is the second-highest player gain that the game has ever witnessed, right behind the massive influx of players noticed in December 2018 when 85,423.8 new players had joined the game.

Ever since the release of Operation Shattered Web back in November 2019, the growth that CS:GO has noticed is unbelievable. With the game performing better with each passing month, the game has started to break its own record every few weeks.

Despite the Coronavirus pandemic hitting esports hard, especially CS:GO which witnessed the cancellation of IEM Katowice 2020 for the live audience, along with the cancelation of the ESL Pro League Season 11 as well, which is now taking place as a regional qualifier, the userbase is consistently increasing, reaching new heights and breaking old records to make newer ones.
