Senior VP of Product ESL responds to Semmler and Dan Fiden on 'Louvre Agreement'

ESL recently announced the long term partnership they entered with 13 teams under the ‘Louvre Agreement’ and to be extremely transparent have even publicly shared the details on the terms of the agreement.

But a few personalities like Auguste “Semmler” Massonnat and Cloud9 President Dan Fiden were not sold on the idea, as they tweeted out things like 'players still getting screwed in the endand ‘comparing the amount that a player would earn versus FLASHPOINT’.

Ulrich Schulze - Senior Vice President Product at ESL was however determined to make sure that all the queries were answered, as he replied to Semmler by stating what was already mentioned in the ESL Pro League - Rulebook,

“Players are getting 15% of the teams' revenue share of the entire circuit of 10+ events on top of $5,000,000 in prize money, a $1,000,000 Intel Grand Slam and their regular salaries in a deal negotiated by CSPPA.”

He went on to indirectly shoot a point across to Dan Fiden as well by saying that “If someone keeps going on and on about percentages, press them for absolute values.” Putting across a point that the 3% players in EPL might be more than the 26% that players will be earning in FLASHPOINT.

It is hard to comment on the ‘Louvre Agreement’ at the moment, there are a lot of possibilities and it would certainly require some time before a conclusion can be drawn upon its success or failure.

It has certainly affected the way ESL Pro League will be functioning from here on out, but FLASHPOINT has not been entirely convincing till now as well. Both the leagues are set to clash in March with EPL starting from 16th and dates for FLASHPOINT yet to announced. Let’s see which league comes out top as the winner.
