CS:GO might be getting a whole lot of bonus content with the release of Half-Life: Alyx in March. According to Valve, “Special Half-Life: Alyx-themed content for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive” will be released along with “Alternate gun skins to embellish Alyx’s arsenal”.

After the success of its latest content update Operation: Shattered Web, this bonus content seems to be the cherry on top, as the possibilities include weapon skins, custom knives, new gloves, and even a whole new character model.

Here's a quick look at some bonus content that we can expect from this crossover.

Addition of an altogether new gun model

The existing skins change the colour and design pattern on the weapon, but an entirely new weapon model based off Half-Life: Alyx might be something really cool. Of course, the functionality will still be the same as that of the weapon it replaces, but holding something futuristic would definitely feel amazing.

A futuristic glove based on the game

The Half-Life: Alyx inspired gloves could be a really great addition as well. The gloves coming with their own set of custom animations would be a plus, and will definitely be setting them way above the other gloves currently available in-game.

New character models

The latest addition in cosmetics are the character models, that broke the game as soon as they were released. Though the problems related to these models have still not been completely resolved, a new male or female model for both T and CT sides will be the best possible thing that this crossover could produce.

Exclusive guardian mission on Source 2 Engine

Considering that Half Life: Alyx will be playable exclusively on Virtual Reality, a bunch of side missions based on CS:GO guardian missions would be great exclusive bonus content. This will enable a lot of players to purchase the game, while also giving everyone an insight on how the game would look on the Source 2 Engine, something that Valve had promised years ago.

It is still not clear whether the bonus content will only be available to those players that purchase the game or to the entire CS:GO community. Or perhaps Valve will split the bonus content between the two playerbases, giving something special to the ones that purchase Half Life: Alyx.
