Don Constantin on 31st December 2019 started a Twitter contest to decide the worst play of the decade (2012-2019), right after CS:GO decided to hold a contest to decide “CS:GO’s Play of the Decade”. The results of the final poll came in today as Jaryd “summit1g” Lazar’s infamously popular Molotov fail against CLG Gaming was voted as the “Worst CS:GO Play of the Decade”.

More than 14,000 votes were cast during the poll which witnessed a close competition between ‘Summit 1G Molotov’ and ‘G2 forget to defuse’, the difference between the two was just 1.8%. Leaving behind ‘Karrigan USP-S whiff’ and ‘s1mple knife fail’ with just 11.7% and 19.8% votes respectively.

It was the public’s opinion and they agreed with the outcome as well. The incident is so famous that every time someone dies to their own Molotov or in fact, to any Molotov, the chat is quick to spam “1G” in the chat.

The curse has been following the now-retired counter-strike player who still streams other gaming titles like Call of Duty. There have been multiple instances when the chat has spammed ‘1G’ on his stream due to him dying to fire in one way or the other.
