The German esports organization BIG after having a slow 2019 has finally made a few changes to its roster with the addition of Florian “syrsoN” Rische and Nils “k1to” Gruhne, who have replaced Johannes “nex” Maget and Owen “smooya” Butterfield, while Tobias “gob b” Herberhold replaces Nikola “LEGIJA” Ninic as the head of CS:GO.
BIG did not achieve any major victory in 2019, as they ended the year with really poor results at DreamHack Open Sevilla 2019 and Champions Cup Finals. Both SyrsoN and k1to after spending a year in Sprout have together moved to BIG, having enjoyed a great season in the local circuit.
During their time in Sprout, the two managed to help the team secure a victory at ESL Meisterschaft: Winter 2019 while placing second at DreamHack Open Atlanta 2019, Games Clash Masters 2019, and ESL Meisterschaft: Summer 2019.
Daniel Finkler, CEO of BIG said that,
“It’s our ambitious goal to strengthen our team and build a consistent and steadily improving roster, which is able to attack the top ranks in 2020. We fully support their choices and I am more than happy that we were able to convince syrsoN and acquire k1to. Both players showed their tremendous potential during the last tournament season and kept improving continuously. Welcome to BIG!”
With the ushering of a new year, the German organization has made some big moves, parting ways with smooya who has been with the team since 2018 while placing nex in the inactive roster. Let’s see how well does BIG perform in 2020.
