StarSeries & i-League Season 8 came to an end yesterday with Evil Geniuses defeating Fnatic in the finals quite comfortably, securing their second tournament win since their formation back in September 2019.

The best-of-three finale was over much quicker than expected as Fnatic fell in back-to-back games on Dust 2 followed by Mirage. NRG was in complete control of the situation on both the maps, with the trio of Brehze, Ethan, and CeRq keeping Fnatic on the backfoot with their aggression, it never really looked as if Fnatic were in a comfortable position.

Evil Geniuses lifted the trophy, winning their first overseas tournament and standing as the champions in Belek, Turkey as they walked away with a cash prize of 250,000 USD.

Ethan ‘Ethan’ Arnold went on to win the MVP award for the tournament, securing an overall rating of 1.24 according to HLTV, across a total of 19 maps. The 19-year-old had a big impact on EG’s journey towards this victory, other players from his teams like Brehze and CeRq were also there as competitors for the MVP but he rightfully clinched the title.

Let’s see if the team can continue on their winning ways at the upcoming IEM Beijing 2019.
