CS:GO achieves highest player count in its history while ranking number one on Steam

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive seems to be doing something right as for the first time ever the game has consistently beaten Dota 2. Comparing the stats between the two games as observed on Steam Charts, Counter-Strike has crossed Dota 2 in terms of ‘Number of Current Players’ and ‘Hours Played’.

Though the popular MOBA still holds the ground when it comes to ‘Peak Players’, the game has been on a downward slope as of late.

CS:GO has not always been the game that finds itself on the top of the Steam Charts, but in the last 30 days, the game has landed the top spot on multiple occasions, beating both PUBG and Dota 2.

While all the other titles are seeing a negative result, CS:GO is achieving stats that it has never seen before. Of course, the game is not able to achieve the peak player numbers that it used to receive back in 2016, but the average player numbers are at an all-time high, as the game currently has around 418,420.8 average players in the last 30 days, the most ever in the history of the game.

It has also seen an increase in the number of unique users, gaining 7,494.8 users, while it is nothing when compared to the rise seen in the number of players last December, it is still a positive benchmark.

These positive stats are really great for a game that has been consistently achieving average results.

But what do you think has led to the rise in this average player count? My guess is that it might be because of the back-to-back CS:GO tournaments, ESL One: New York 2019 and DreamHack Masters Malmo 2019 that took place recently.
