ESL announces IEM Katowice 2020 with a $500,000 prize pool

ESL has announced the details for IEM Katowice 2020 which is scheduled to take place from 28th Feb - 1st March at the Spodek Arena, Katowice. The $500,000 event will witness participation from a total of sixteen teams while being one of the tournaments in the current Intel Grand Slam Season 3.


This will be the eleventh edition of the event which will be a part of the newly introduced ESL Pro Tour, which was announced earlier this month. The event will be one of the two Master-level events which are supposed to be a part of the pro tour.

Out of the sixteen participating teams, ten teams will be directly invited for the event while the remaining six will make their way through the regional qualifiers. These sixteen teams will be divided into two groups of eight teams each following a double-elimination format with the top three teams from each group moving on to the Playoffs.

The $500,000 prize pool has been divided as follows, ensuring that all the 16 teams making their way to the main event win a part of the total prize pool.
