Fnatic has signed both Robin ‘flusha’ Ronnquist and Maikil ‘golden’ Selim to their roster. The ex-Fnatic players return home after a gap of almost two years and one year, respectively.
But the deal that the two players have struck with Fnatic is not the same. While flusha seems to have found a permanent place with Fnatic, golden on the other hand has been loaned from Cloud9 until the end of the year.
Flusha has had a long history with the organization, joining Fnatic back in 2013 to leave for a period of about six months only to return back to Fnatic for seventeen months to then move on to play for Cloud9.
During his time with Fnatic, flusha has been a part of the three-time major winning roster and went on to say a few words,
“It feels great to be back in Fnatic, where most of my fondest CS:GO memories were created - and, hopefully, there will be even more in the future.
We all made some mistakes in the past that we have learned from and I believe we have all matured and become more professional since both mine and Golden’s departure from Fnatic last year.
During my break from the CS:GO scene, I reflected a lot upon the negative and positive things that I showed in my entire professional esports career and I have tried to now focus on what once made me one of the best players in the world.
I’m excited to come back to play with some of the best players I have ever played with and especially to be beside such a young talent in Brollan.
Hopefully, we can all show him the experience we have and teach him everything we know to make sure he becomes the best player in the world at some point!”
While golden who had been a part of Fnatic back in 2017, after making his way to the main roster through their first-ever academic project, went on to play for the side for about a year during which he led the Swedish side to a victory at IEM Katowice 2018.
Golden returning back to lead Fnatic said that,
“I am extremely excited to return to where it all began for me. I’m happy to be back with the guys and lead this team back in form with all the different experiences and knowledge we have learned in the past year.”
Coincidentally even golden went on to play with Cloud9 and now both the players have returned to Fnatic once again. The Swedish side will be making its first appearance with the new roster today, against Heretics, playing in ECS Season 7. The next major LAN for the side will be DreamHack Masters Malmo 2019, taking place from 1st-6th October.
The current Fnatic roster is as follows,
Jesper ‘JW’ Wecksell
Freddy ‘KRIMZ’ Johansson
Ludvig ‘Brollan’ Brolin
Robin ‘flusha’ Ronnquist
Maikil ‘Golden’ Selim [Loan]
Andreas ‘Samuelsson’ Samuelsson [Coach]
Richard ‘Xizt’ Landstrom [Benched]
Simon ‘twist’ Eliasson [Benched]
